The Marshall County Ag Day Committee invites the public to learn about agriculture on April 1 at Centennial Park in Plymouth. Educational booths will be set up from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The goals of the event are to inform the public about Marshall County agriculture and to show how important agriculture is to the local economy.
The committee will have educational displays on dairy cattle, beef cattle, ducks, swine, sheep, natural resource conservation, crop production, farm safety, nutrition, electrical safety and the 4-H program.
Anyone can stop by over their lunch hour. Just stop by the park and check out the displays. Also, this is a great activity for full-time homemakers to learn about the industry that raises the food they buy in local grocery stores.
Groups are welcome, but the Ag Day Committee would appreciate advance notice so they can be prepared. Call the Marshall County Extension office at 574/935-8545 to bring a group.
"We already have a busy schedule planned for the day, with area third-graders coming to the event," said Bob Yoder, Marshall County Extension educator.
