Published: Friday, June 12, 2026

A Purdue University junior from Middlebury is the 2026 recipient of the Jeff Burbrink Scholarship Award.

Sarah Trick, daughter of Dave and Tanya Trick, received a $1,000 scholarship last Wednesday in Goshen. Sarah is studying veterinary science at Purdue and is interning this summer at the Middlebury Veterinary Clinic.

She graduated from Northridge High School in 2024 and was a 10-year 4-H'er, competing in dairy feeder calves.

After she graduates in 2028, Trick plans to become a veterinary nurse. She wants to work at the Middlebury Veterinary Clinic.

The presentation was part of an annual scholarship recognition program sponsored by the Purdue Foundation of Elkhart County. A total of 42 scholarships were handed out to deserving Elkhart County students attending Purdue University. The Burbrink scholarship is awarded to an Elkhart County high school graduate who is studying agriculture.
