Tippecanoe Valley Students Dominate District LDE

Twenty-three members of the Tippecanoe Valley FFA Chapter competed in the District II Leadership Contest hosted at Tippecanoe Valley High School on March 13, with eight advancing to the state contest. Approximately 300 students from 17 local high schools participated.
Valley results include: First-place winners: Emily Nayotl, Spanish creed; Ellison Burton, discover creed; McKinley Burton, star Greenhand; Hayden Stookey, premier leadership and extemporaneous speaking; Temperance Caudill, ag mechanics and technology demonstration; Lillian Dunbar, essay; and Matthew Engle and Kade Jones, discovery landscape and horticulture demonstration.
Second-place winners: Valentina Luva-Troche, Spanish creed; Lindsay Petersen, traditional scrapbook; Jones, discovery extemporaneous speaking; and Landon Bewley and Brent Miller, ag business management demonstration.
Third-place winners: Harrison Burton and Hunter Hughes, discovery animal science demonstration; Hailey Borsa, multimedia scrapbook; and Borsa and Stookey, food science demonstration.
In discovery quiz bowl, the fourth place title was snagged by the team of Engle, Lyla Clauson, Eleanor Martin and Madeline Martin. Burton took fourth place in prepared public speaking.
Others in the top 10 include Gracie Beck (sixth), freshman creed; Isabella Jones and Camille Tucker (sixth), discovery food science demonstration; and Evan Kneller and Adyson Hollinger (seventh), natural resources demonstration.
All competing Valley FFA member placed in the top 10. All first-place contestants will compete at State FFA Convention in June.
Members are coached by Michael Jones and Jenna Burton, Tippecanoe Valley High School FFA advisors.
