Stump, Hurley Show Top Dairy Beef

Brianna Stump of Noble County and Logan Hurley of Whitley County exhibited the top animals at the 24th annual Noble County Preview Dairy Beef Show last Saturday in Kendallville. Stump led the grand champion in the dairy steer show, while Hurley brought the top calf in the dairy feeder steer show.

Stump's grand champion dairy steer was also the champion from the mediumweight division. The champion heavyweight, shown by Taelyn Tom of Kosciusko County, was the reserve champion overall. The third-place steer was the reserve champion mediumweight animal exhibited by Joshua Marker of Noble County.

Other winners in the dairy steer show were: Chase Keller, Pulaski County, reserve champion heavyweight; Jared Beer, Kosciusko County, champion lightweight steer; and Kyleigh Cripps, Allen County, reserve champion lightweight.

In the dairy feeder steer show, Hurley's grand champion was also the champion from the mediumweight division. Laney Parker of Allen County exhibited the overall reserve champion and the champion heavyweight steer. Jared Beer's champion lightweight calf was selected as the third overall steer.

Jace Beer exhibited two reserve champion calves, one in the heavyweight division and one in the mediumweight division.

Marker showed the reserve champion lightweight calf.

In showmanship, Parker and Marker claimed top honors in the senior division. Parker was first and Marker was second. Kaden Miller of Miami County placed third.

The champion intermediate showman was Logan Francis of Whitley County. Second and third place, respectively, were Landin Parrish of Whitley County and Haidyn Sattler of Hancock County, Ohio.

In junior showmanship, Hurley earned the top award. Hadley Parrish of Whitley County and Lucas Francis of Whitley County placed second and third, respectively.

The show featured over 200 calves from 26 counties in Indiana and Ohio. Emily Griffiths of Kendallville was the judge. Next year's event will be the 25th anniversary of the Noble County Dairy Beef Preview Show.
