Egolf to Represent Indiana Holstein Assn.

Caroline Egolf, daughter of Chad and Jamie Egolf of Churubusco, was crowned the 2022 Indiana Holstein princess at the Indiana Holstein Assn.'s annual meeting in Boone County.
Egolf, 17, shows Holstein cattle at the Indiana Junior Holstein Show, among other events. She is in her ninth year of 4-H in Whitley County. She lives on a 120-cow dairy farm.
As Indiana Holstein princess, she will represent the breed at the Indiana State Holstein Show in June and the Indiana State Fair in August.
Egolf was one of 15 Holstein exhibitors to earn All-Indiana Awards for 2021. She showed the top junior 3-year-old. Other recipients (listed by name and winning cow/calf) were: Stookeyholm Holsteins, Milford, spring calf and senior 3-year-old; Wicker Farms, Milroy, winter calf and winter yearling; Maplebranch Farms, Middlebury, fall calf and summer yearling; Kayla Godwin, Daleville, spring yearling; Gary and Diana Lipply, Plymouth, fall yearling; Lookwell Farm, junior 2-year-old; Richard Thomas, Middlebury, senior 2-year-old; Lookwell Farm and Moyer, 4-year-old; Lookwell Farm and Osborn, 5-year-old; Dalton Freeman, Bremen, aged cow; and Riley Koehn, Peotone, Ill., production cow.
In other awards, Jeremy Dankert of Nor-Bert Farms in Bremen was honored with the Master Breeder award. Duane Hill of Fountain City received the Honorary Lifetime Member award.
Six herd owners, Dankert, Steve Landis of Goshen, Roger Hibschman of Syracuse, Lyle Weaver of Goshen, Darrell Richard of Goshen and Schwoeppe Dairy of Huntingburg, all received 2021 Progressive Breeders Registry awards.
The Holstein association also presented Progressive Genetics Herd awards. Recipients included: Richard; Rauscher Farms, Huntingburg; Nor-Bert Farms; Weaver; Brand Dairy Farm, Waterloo; Jeryl Weaver, Wakarusa; and Daniel Hague, Albion.
Holstein members with the highest breed age averages (BAA) for 2021 were recognized. Those receiving that award were:
• 10 to 50 head—Richard Nisen, Leesburg, 114.1; Lookwell Farm, 113.5; Landis, 110.8; Jeff and Gina Stookey, Milford, 110.8; and Marcus and Julia Troyer, Laotto, 110.7.
• 51 to 99 head—Nor-Bert Farms, 108; Thomas, 108; Beekman Holsteins, Huntington, 107; Richard, 106; and Weaver, 105.9.
• 100 and above—Darren Schwoeppe, Huntingburg, 108.3; Kuehnert Dairy, Fort Wayne, 107.8; Oneeda Farms, Syracuse, 107.5; Brand Farms, 104.6; and Rauscher Farms, Huntingburg, 103.3.
