8 oz. pkg. yellow cake mix
2 tsp. grated orange peel
3 Tbsp. orange juice
½ tsp. vanilla
5 tsp. strawberry fruit spread
2 Tbsp. pecans, chopped
Preheat oven to 350°. Spray baking sheets with nonstick cooking spray.
Beat cake mix, orange peel, juice and vanilla in medium bowl with electric mixer at medium speed 2 minutes or until mixture is crumbly. Beat on medium-high speed 2 minutes or until smooth. (Dough will be very sticky.)
Coat hands with nonstick cooking spray. Shape dough into 1" balls. Place balls 2½" apart on prepared baking sheets. Press center of each ball with thumb. Fill each thumbprint with ¼ tsp. fruit spread. Sprinkle with pecans.
Bake 8-9 minutes or until cookies are light golden brown and no longer shiny. Remove to wire racks; cool completely. —20 cookies.
