The Columbia City FFA chapter hosted its Blue Jacket Bash last Wednesday evening, which helped highlight and celebrate the success of the FFA members. More than 300 businessmen and women, farmers, teachers, FFA members and FFA alums attended.
Between sponsorships and donations, more than $25,000 was raised for the FFA program which will help support the chapter's programs and activities throughout the year.
Guest speaker at the event was Beth Bechdol, CEO of AgriNovus Indiana. She highlighted the importance of agbiosciences and attracting and retaining talent in the growing sector. Brett Roberts, former FFA state officer and Columbia City FFA alum was another guest speaker. He shared his FFA experiences and the impact that participating in the program can have on students.
Steaks from Schrader Angus Farms and Krider Meats, pork from Greg Rupert and Kevin Ousley, green beans from Wise Farms LLC and potatoes from Jim Hart and Local Yokels were featured meal items.
