The 39th annual St. Joseph County Ag Days took place April 10-12 at the St. Joseph County 4-H Fairgrounds in South Bend.
An estimated 10,000 people attended the three-day agricultural event. More than 600 milk cartons were given away on Friday to parents and their children.
Children were able to pick an apple from a tree, dig a peanut, pick cotton, milk a "cow," gather eggs from the hen house, experience a worm farm, try their hand at "fish farming" and experience other farm-related activities. Each child ended their experience by "selling" their basket of farm products for a cookie at the farm market.

Animals on display included: rabbits, chickens, lambs, piglets, cows, steers and more. Farm machinery, illustrating 100 Years of Progress, was also on exhibit.
Many of the county 4-H livestock groups participated during by bringing in their animals to be put on display. Several area agribusinesses were also a part of the event. The Ag Team of St. Joseph County in cooperation with the St. Joseph County 4-H Fair board organizes the event.
